100th Art Rumble at the Rumble House!

What a surprise it was last week to go on down to the Rumble House to host the Art Auction and discover it was the one hundredth battle/rumble/auction since we started in July 2012. While I hosted the majority of Gorilla House battles, this was only my third time behind the mic at the Rumble House, and I was very glad to be able to celebrate the occasion with so many friends, old and new.

One of the best parts of the Wednesday night Live Art sessions has been hanging out with the artists as they construct their works. We’ve always encouraged a rather porous divide between the artist and audience, and I think if you watch the videos, you’ll often see the artists engaged in conversation with other people asking them about their craft. There’s no mystery to the process at the Rumble House, it’s all out in the open, and that’s what makes it so much fun.

Come on down next Wednesday. Artists start working at 7pm, auction at 9pm.
